Image Pixelator (Censor Tool)

Pixelate the whole image or a selected area to censor faces, plates or personal data.

Runs in your browser Free

    Hide sensitive information safely

Before sharing a screenshot or photo you may need to hide faces, licence plates, addresses, phone numbers, bank details or ID numbers. Pixelation turns the selected area into large colour blocks so the information can't be read.

    How to use it

Drag on the preview to select the region to hide and set the block size. Without a selection the whole image is pixelated, which also works as a retro pixel-art effect.

    Why on-device matters

The information you want to censor is sensitive by definition, so pixelation runs entirely in your browser and the original photo never leaves your device.

How to use Image Pixelator (Censor Tool)

    1. Upload the photo or screenshot to censor.
    2. Drag on the preview to select the area to hide.
    3. Increase the pixel block size until the information is unreadable.
    4. Download the censored image.

    Why use this tool?

Protect personal data in images you share, quickly and safely.

    FAQ

    Can pixelation be reversed?

Large blocks permanently destroy detail. Short text with small blocks can sometimes be guessed, so use a large pixel size for sensitive data.

    Is pixelation or blur safer?

Large-block pixelation is safer than a light blur. The safest method is covering the area with a solid colour.

What if I don't select an area?

The whole image is pixelated. To hide several areas, download the first result, upload it again and repeat.
