FAQ

Why can't the old value be zero?

The percentage change from zero is undefined because it would divide by zero. The absolute difference is still shown.

Why doesn't +50% then −50% get back to the start?

The decrease is applied to a larger value: 100 → 150 (+50%) → 75 (−50%).

What's the difference between percent change and percentage points?

A rate going from 10% to 12% is a 2 percentage point rise but a 20% change.
