    Clean up grainy photos

Night shots, indoor photos, pictures from old phones and images recompressed through messaging apps often contain noise (grain) and JPEG block artefacts. The denoiser uses a Swin2SR restoration model trained on real-world degradations.

    How it works

The photo is processed in tiles and the restored version is blended with the original according to the strength you choose:

    • Light: gentle cleanup that keeps natural texture
    • Medium: balanced noise reduction
    • Strong: for very noisy photos

    Hardware

The model is about 50 MB with WebGPU and about 20 MB in the slower CPU mode. Browsers with WebGPU (current Chrome, Edge) process much faster. Your photos stay on your device.

How to use AI Photo Denoiser

    1. Upload your noisy photo.
    2. Choose the denoising strength.
    3. When processing finishes, compare before and after.
    4. Download the cleaned photo.

    Why use this tool?

Improves precious low-light memories without uploading photos anywhere.

    FAQ

Why is the output smaller than my photo?

To keep the browser responsive, very large photos are processed at a reduced resolution. The info line below the tool shows the processing and output size.

Why is CPU mode so slow?

Restoration models are compute-heavy. On devices without WebGPU, processing can take up to a minute.

    Does it fix blurry photos?

It can reduce slight blur; the AI Image Sharpener is better suited to sharpening.
