Clean, readable subtitles

What gets removed
- HTML styling tags and ASS override codes
- Sound descriptions in brackets and parentheses, and speaker names
- Music note symbols
- Subtitle lines left empty after cleaning
Choose which elements to remove or keep dialogue only. Timings don't change. Processing runs on our server and files are deleted automatically.
How to use Subtitle Cleaner
- Upload the subtitle file to clean.
- Choose what to remove (tags, sound notes, symbols).
- Start cleaning.
- Download the cleaned subtitles.
Why use this tool?
Cleans a whole file in seconds instead of editing line by line; also ideal before translation or transcription.
FAQ
What are hearing-impaired (SDH) notes?
Sound descriptions such as [MUSIC PLAYING] added for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers. Remove them with this tool if you don't need them.

No, only the text is edited; every timestamp is kept.
Will italics disappear?
If tag removal is selected, italic tags are removed too. Turn that option off to keep italics.
